Sounds like the same crap that happened in Charlotte a few years back with the hornets.

When the hornets were founded, Charlotte built them a new arena, 10 years later, the owner was mad that he didn't have sky boxes, etc. in the arena so he threatened to leave if the city didn't build him a new arena. They refused for several years and told the jerk see ya!

He took the team to New Orleans. Say, maybe he is the reason that the Katrina hit Nola!

The fans also stopped caring in Charlotte when they realized that the bottom line was ALL that mattered to Shinn and Co, and NOT championships. Charlotte led the league in attendance for many years, until fans started realizing that because we had good players, they'd ask for more money, and the owners would rather trade them than pay. That combined with the arena mess, forcibily drove Shinn and Woldridge (sp?) from Charlotte. I've hated the Hornets ever since.

As for the TD Waterhouse...my company has a sky box and it's about impossible to get a client to go to a game with those seats...just like UCF LXA said...if you're not in the front row of the box, you end up watching on the TV in the suite. We also have courtside seats right next to the Magic bench...now those seats are sweat!!

As for me I am looking forward to the ECU vs UCF game and having a few beers with my UCF friends. Definitely not going to let a few idiot posters get in the way of a good time.

As if any one of us wouldn't want to sit around and have a few beers with the opponent before the game. We're not making personal threats and we aren't going to eat the children of ECU fans if we see them at the Citrus Bowl. We're talking trash on a message board. That's it. That's what happens. Everyone needs to stop taking things so personally, as if we have any control at all with what happens at our alma-maters (or current schools).

If any ECU fan makes it down to the Citrus Bowl for our game, I'd be more than willing to share my tailgate, beer and food with them. It's just sports, guys, and we all have different ways of having a good time when it comes to sports. Talking smack is just one of those ways.

I did not see your post. I am all for smack and have been known to contribute to those conversations. What I am tired of as well as a lot of UCF posters is legitimate post on the main board getting dragged onto the smack board. If you want to talk smack about ECU that is fine and quite frankly we have made ourselves an easy target the last 3-4yrs, just post it on the smackboard and fire away.

Truth is, many conversations degenerate in this same manner, just not too many have grown to the size of this online jibba jabba rivalry between ECU and UCF. It happens.
Let's just all remember that it's all in fun. It's just sports and, as I said, none of us really has any control over what happens on and off the field for our student athletes and coaches.

I dont think you read that quite right. I said a lot of UCF posters agree with me that it is hard to have a legitimate sports conversation on the main board about ECU or UCF without it degenerating to a smack thread.
Smack is great it just belongs on this board from the get go.
