There was a Ole Miss fan with a really crappy seat at VH stadium. Looking with his binoculars, he spotted an empty seat on the 50-yard line. Thinking to himself "what a waste" he made his way down to the empty seat.
When he arrived at the seat, he asked the man sitting next to it, " Is this seat taken? " The man replied, "This was my wife's seat. She passed away. She was a big Rebels fan." The other man replied, "I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. May I ask why you didn't give the ticket to a friend or a relative?"

The man replied, "They're all at the funeral."

Oh, I've got to show this to my wife. She will say that this is so me! Yup, my priorities are screwed to hell when it comes to Ole Miss!

A friend of mine who was a former co-worker in Tupelo always said "there's two things you don't do during football season....get married, or die, cause ain't nobody gonna be there." I had to admire his spirit.

I am by no means trying to make light of my uncle's death. However, this die-hard MSU fan passed away late one Saturday night during football season. The timing of receiving the news coincided with the end of the final airing of ESPN's Gameday Scoreboard. That occurence is the humorous part (though I may be the only one to think so) of an otherwise very sad event. The great thing about him was no matter what family crisis was afoot, the only thing we found important to speak of was football, basketball, or baseball. Our family reunion falls every year on the weekend of the Arkansas/MSU game (which is a funny coincidence in itself with my family all being either Hog or State-fans). We pissed off numerous family members by skipping the reunion for the always exciting football matchup. He ended up quite pissed at me for finding a way to make it to the overtime game in sleet and snow a couple of years back while he had to mingle with relatives.

One year the Arkansas-Ole Miss game fell on my wife's birthday(I think it was the '99 edition). I begged and pleaded with her to come to the game with me, only to curb the tremendous guilt I was feeling because I knew I was gonna go to this game whether it was her birthday or not. She didn't want to go to the game with me, because some friends were taking her to lunch and leaving the dinner to me. Ha! So, the decision time came after many, many struggles with myself about it. Do I go to Oxford or stay at home and take my wife out? Hmmm.

Well, long story short.....Hotty Toddy Gosh Amighty Who The Hell Are We?

It was very quiet in my house for the next two weeks or so.

My family always has a big to do on Thanksgiving. I love them all - everyone, but 1. I'm going to go deer hunting that morning and 2. I'm going to the egg bowl game. I may have to go with camo on, but I'll be there.
