I wonder how any MAGA republicans are marching against ICE. 200? 1,000?

Nah. 0.

I wonder how they got their permit to block freeway traffic. Must have come from a leftie.

This little debacle brought to you courtesy of the American Left.

leftists fight police

Living down to Trump's stereotype, playing right into his hands...

I am sure their self-image is of people fighting for what is right and just, regardless of petty annoyances like getting permits and dispersing when told. Apparently they proudly live down to everybody's stereotype.

What was their stereotype before Trump came down the escalator?

And those petty annoyances of assaulting police officers, rioting, trying to short circuit an electoral process, and for at least a little over a dozen -- engaging in seditious conspiracy.

Im rather amused by the pearl clutching over a peaceful mass protest, and the opprobrious manner in which it described given the folks 4 years ago that dont warrant a peep from certain quarters.

Is it illegal that they shut down a freeway? yep. Peaceful? yep. Assaulted police officers? Nope.

The right has completely vacated the the moral ground to complain about peaceful protest -- something that they held in the summer of '20. And the right has completely vacated the moral ground to complain about items such as above. But please cry some moar about the sheer horror of 'not getting permits' and 'dispersing when told'. It is hypocritical -- laughably so, at this juncture.

Nothing like shutting down freeways to make the general public absolutely hate whatever it is that you support. Dumb dumb dumb tactics.

RE: Birthright citizenship
I am against people shutting down freeways to protest ANYTHING other than that freeway. Emergency services are impeded... people picking up their children. People going to work. People catching planes (I was RIGHT THERE just a few hours earlier)

Those are people looking to cause trouble for people unrelated in any way to that which they are protesting.... often risking people's lives. I saw it happen first hand in SF... where ambulances couldn't get people to hospitals in a timely manner because people wanted to protest.

'Holding the moral high ground' serves little purpose in this day and age. True virtue is gone.... and is not returning any time soon. I dont remotely revel in that, but being riteously out of power serves little purpose.

Yet there are those who defend this, maybe even some here. All on the left. They must be so proud.

Mr. Profile In Courage would have no idea who defends what on here because he has anybody who does not fall into lockstep with him on ignore. Cool.

This article on SCOTUSblog may be of interest:

A history of birthright citizenship at the Supreme Court
By Amy Howe
Feb 5, 2025
https://www.scotusblog.com/2025/02/a-his...eme-court/

The article has a sentence containing one of those strings of negation that are always fun in legal writing: "In its brief opposing a preliminary injunction that would bar the Trump administration from enforcing the executive order, . . ."
