The SFA game went about as expected, except a little worse. SFA just dominated us on defense. Sad that we used to be known for dominating defense at one time. Our new transfers are decent, but just not able to handle hard physical ball yet. SFA hogged the rim and moved the ball well despite our defensive plays and getting turnovers. We couldn't get the points off of turnovers we are used to. We finally got up to shooting 37% after shooting roughly 26% most of the game. We were 0-11 from 3pt range. and our FT shooting was an embarrassing 56%. We got out rebounded 36-23. Despite all of that, we stayed within striking distance the whole game, but the game was never really in doubt. SFA wins 62-57. Not sure how much I look forward to conference play.

Men are going to lose their conference opener as well against UVU on the road. I didn't get to see much but thet look to have the same issues of not being physical enough and not getting baskets. Both team have too many turnovers, but UVU is able to score off of theirs. Again, ACU is like 1-10 from 3pt range and about 32% FG. Sad to watch really. Final is 64-53 UVU.

In typical Texans/Mavs fashion, we saw another epic nailbiter in The Ville. There were multiple lead changes and momentum swings, with Tarleton coming back to close it out 77-74 in the final 2 minutes. These two teams continue to bring out the best in one another. Great way to start conference play.
