Dems Post-Mortems Begin, and Three Focus Groups Leave Party Leaders in Shambles
Quote:Having suffered its most devastating defeat in modern history in November, the Democratic Party post-mortems have begun. According to Politico, multiple focus groups held after the election have left party leaders panicking, with no easy way out.

Specifically, participants described the far-left political party as "complacent and lazy" and "not a friend of the working class." Others complained Democrats are too married to their radical ideas "even when they're failing."

Democrats conducting post-mortems on their sweeping losses in 2024 are finding more reason for alarm. And the problem isn’t just Kamala Harris or Joe Biden.

In a trio of focus groups, even voters who previously backed Democrats cast the party as weak and overly focused on diversity and elites, according to research by the progressive group Navigator Research.

When asked to compare the Democratic Party to an animal, one participant compared the party to an ostrich because “they’ve got their heads in the sand and are absolutely committed to their own ideas, even when they’re failing.” Another likened them to koalas, who “are complacent and lazy about getting policy wins that we really need.” Democrats, another said, are “not a friend of the working class anymore.”

The focus groups were not just filled with random Democrat voters. Instead, they were made up of a variety of people who voted for President Joe Biden in 2020 but then voted for incoming President Donald Trump in 2024. Given those people were the difference in the election, that approach makes sense. Does it really matter what some left-winger from Boulder thinks when trying to come up with a plan to rescue the Democratic Party?

One man from Georgia who switched his vote to Trump called out "Democratic elites," saying they are "obsessed" with "far-left social progressivism" often pushed on college campuses.

“I think what the Democratic elites and their politicians believe is often very different from what the average Democratic voter is,” said a Georgia man who voted for Biden in 2020 but Trump in 2024. “The elites that run the Democratic Party — I think they’re way too obsessed with appealing to these very far-left social progressivism that’s very popular on college campuses.”

All of this is good information, but Democrats face an issue without an easy solution. In a vacuum, could the party change its stripes and appear more sane? Perhaps, but the Democratic Party doesn't exist in a vacuum. One only had to watch MSNBC in the days after the 2024 election to understand that.

Much of the problem started with former President Barack Obama. He ushered in a wave of racial grievance and division that created the insanely woke social progressivism that is now at the heart of the Democratic party. That means it can't just be removed. If party leaders attempt to move to the middle on things like DEI, social justice, and transgenderism to appeal more to normal Americans, they will have betrayed an increasingly militant base, and if the pro-Hamas lunatics have taught us anything, its that the Democrat base will burn everything down for nothing more than spite.

So what do Democrats do? I have no idea. If House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who is still mumbling about "extreme MAGA Republicans," is any indication, they are going to keep doubling down. The rumblings of a third Kamala Harris presidential run offer no sign of a shift either. This is what happens when you indulge in insane left-wing ideology for short-term political gain. It's a one-way street, and Democrats are stuck.

The hyperbole around this is astounding to me.... "Most devasting defeat in Modern History" - Unless Modern history only counts the last 8 years maybe?

It wasn't a blow out by any stretch, but when you read the reports you would think this was a Regan/Mondale result.

Trump won by a few million votes and 85-ish EC votes. A Thumping - no. A solid win, yes absolutely.

1980 Reagan beat up Carter (+8M votes)
1984 Reagan Vs Mondale was an absolute bludgeoning (+13m votes)
1988 Bush beat up Dukakis similarly (+7M votes0
1992 Clinton Beat up Bush 1 and Perot pretty good (+5.8M votes)
1996 Clinton Beat Dole and Perot even worse than Bush (+8m votes)
2008 & 2012 Obama beat McCain and Romney consecutively (+10M Votes and +5M votes)
Hell, Biden "won" by $7M votes in 2020

Trump is gonna end up somewhere in the ball park of (+3M votes) - Hardly Devastating / Blow out / boat race.

I'm not surer they were as concerned with the margin of victory than with the defeat itself, regardless of the numbers. IMO it symbolized an overall repudiation of the democrat party.

The GA voter is right. The Dems listens too much to the woke progressives from college campuses. The cesspool from where all of this wacko nonsense comes from these universities and colleges

It's starting to hit them that anyone with half a brain hates them.

They'll now just go back to cheating full time.

Clinton only had about 42% of the vote in 92 and was well under 50% in 96. Those weren’t that big

Every state and almost every county shifted right. NJ and IL was won by only 4 percent. Trump lead or cut into Dems voting demographics like no Republican in nearly 60 years. This was a realignment election no doubt

Far different time than even 20 year ago. The reason you had dems and pubs win by large margins before is because people generally voted for who they thought was the best candidate. When Reagan and Clinton were running swing states were t even a thing, every state was a swing state depending on the candidates.

Nowadays the dems could run a ham sandwich and win CA, NY and IL.

It’s a blow out because the red team expanded their count in every state and almost every county in every state. They got large unions and newspapers to drop their endorsement of dem candidates. They made large advances with minorities and college aged voters.

And...it wasn't just every state shifting right. It was EVERY SINGLE COUNTY in the country. Kamala didn't improve on Biden's numbers in a single county in the country. Not one. That was the surprise that hit Jake Tapper on election night.

Kamala is not running again. Even of she does, she will never make it past the first three primaries.

I really hope the Dems figure it out and start nominating more patriotic candidates. America is a better place when both major parties believe in her, support her, and will fight for her.

Look at every major bill: you have almost unanimous democrat votes for it, and then the ~20% of Republicans that are Freedom Caucus voting against. It happens almost every single time. If you have the Democrats start recruiting and nominating patriots, you would see that uniparty cohesion start to buckle, and you would see significant legislative wins for the people.

You have to realize that other presidents had more outstanding numbers was because in other times the voters were more independent than today. Today's Demonic voters are party first and don't use common sense in their voting. Like someone said they would vote for whomever had the D after their name regardless of candidate.

If Trump was running in the olden days he would have had more votes than any president has ever had. People had common sense before.

Don't expect the Dems to change ever again. They'll just quintuple down on their message.

Scott Jennings Nukes Dem Party, Sends Panel in Disarray With Explanation on Why They Lost

Quote:CNN's conservative political analyst Scott Jennings created a bit of a stir this Christmas Eve, responding rather succinctly to why the Democrat party suffered a thrashing defeat in the elections and causing the panel to end in chaotic fashion.

And God love him for it.

The debate got a little wild when “CNN News Central” co-host Kate Bolduan offered Democratic strategist Maria Cardona an opportunity to respond to figures in her party openly criticizing messaging from their leaders.

That includes Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV), who referred to the party as "toxic," and Democratic communications strategist Lis Smith, who believes "the Democratic brand is in the toilet."

Cardona gave a rambling response in which she tried to convince herself that President-elect Donald Trump hadn't won the election by much. There was no sweeping mandate and he just barely squeaked by Kamala Harris.

In fact, she went whistling through the graveyard with this assessment.

"We certainly have work to do, but there‘s no question that the Democrats still stand for making sure that everyone has the ability to acquire the American dream," she said of the party that spent the last four years decimating the American dream.

When the nearly five-minute segment had concluded, Bolduan said Jennings would have a chance to respond ... next time around.

Well, he wasn't thrilled about that, complaining about being filibustered out of a response, and eventually prompted Bolduan to give him an extra 30 seconds.

As per usual, he knocked it out of the park.

"It took Maria five minutes. Here‘s 10 seconds," Jennings fired back. "Democrats are the party of uncommon nonsense. Republicans are the party of common sense. It‘s why our tent right now is full of such a wide ideological spectrum. People are flocking to the Republicans because we stand for common sense. And Democrats have taken on all this uncommon fringe nonsense."

"If they are in the toilet, my advice?" he added. "Flush away the fringe and the people who have drug you down there. Because this is why Republicans won the election.”

It was a succinct beatdown, yet thorough. Bolduan mouthed the words "oh geez" and had to look away. The exchange even caught the attention of Mama Musk.

Cardona could be seen off to the side, trying to interject as Jennings explained why the uncommon fringe - weird people, if you will - is basically leading the Democrat party.

After many a head shake and eye roll, she was able to get this shot in: “Wanting to invade Greenland and Panama, I don’t think that’s common sense.”

Bolduan, at this point, interjected with a threat to cut their mics and demanded the two "just zip it."

It was all seemingly in good fun. At least the host was having a good laugh about the matter as she finally cut away after declaring her guests had "hijacked" the segment.

Speaking of the Greenland deal, Jennings also sent Cardona into a tailspin when he whole-heartedly supported Trump's plan to acquire the autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark.

"For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity," Trump recently declared in a Trust Social media post.

While many dismiss the idea as preposterous and possibly a case of Trump trolling the left, Jennings gave a full-throated defense of the move, calling it "an amazing idea."

"Yes, we need Greenland. Greenland is an amazing thing to have," Jennings said. "It‘s like — do you ever play Monopoly? You know, like, the first row of properties, like, yeah, they‘re cheap, maybe I don‘t need — you need those. Those are vital properties. I am for Greenland."

Jennings went on to suggest that if Trump can pull off the purchase of Greenland during his second term, "it will be a great legacy piece for Donald Trump.”

In fact, he went so far as to publicly declare his intention to seek a prominent role there.

"I am personally, and on television, applying to be the military governor of Greenland if, in fact, we do take control of it," he stated.
