The term thinking presumes facts not in evidence

And the insane thing was he tried to KEEP Sione on staff after demoting him LOL.

Dilfer is a turd.

Dilfer and his previous coach staff were a toilet bowl full of turds.

The new, surrounding coaching staff may be a pretty bouquet of flowers, but there is still a turd as the centerpiece.

A bouquet of flowers with a turd in it, will still smell like a turd. Does anyone really think that Dilfer will keep his narcissistic fingers off of the play calling, and not meddle with stuff. In his mind he’s the best coach in the world and always the smartest guy in the room. He’s mad that Mark made him fire the brightest football mind known to man! I just can’t fathom how they think this will work out when the turd is still the centerpiece.

Not to mention we will probably have fcs level talent next year.

If you're bored go lookup the coaching staff at Miles College. Tell me you wouldn't swap their entire staff for ours in a heartbeat.

I would not, and if they weren’t in close proximity neither would anyone else

The staff at Miles wouldn't swap anyway. They would rather stay at a program that will still have football in 3 years. 03-lmfao

I wouldn’t summarily dismiss the staff at Miles, Samford or any other program as long as they are of good character and produce winning teams.

Especially the defensive side of the ball at Miles college of all the places. Probably a DC/DB, CB, and LB coach that could help.

The program is in no danger. We just need to start winning.

I don't think it's in immediate danger of being shutdown but more another slow death dying on the vine from neglect like we've been through before that gives those down the road the ammo to shut it down again

My biggest concern is being left behind. Again. When the final implosion comes (the ACC) it will be our last chance to move up or be left behind in seriously diminished AAC.
We were in an upward trajectory. New Conference. New state of the art stadium. Winning football and basketball. A decent TV market. Everybody's interest were aligned. Playing with house money. Souls were in a restful state. Had peace when the day was ending. But Now ???

That's my concern as well. We've been left behind so many times by so many schools in the past. That looked like it was stabilized, then Mark and Trent, et al, have completely run the football program into the ground, with no guidance or vision for how we will navigate the future - NIL, conference alignment, etc. We are in a bad place.

Miles College staff is better than ours and those coaches don't get paid anything. If their head coach had more money to spend, that staff would be even better. He has a lot of coaching connections.

I can say that that is completely false. Dilfer told him he was not renewing his contract and that he was letting him go. Sinoe asked to remain until his contract runs out in sometime January helping out however he could. At no point and time was Sione going to remain on staff or employed at UAB in any capacity. Sione could have just left and taken a check but he wanted to work until the end of his contract.

Just wanted to clear that up. No defending, just setting the record straight.
