Grab McKinnon and Langham from Miles college staff and keep recruiting.

DL position coach will be huge.

Didn't see what everyone saw in Coleman, Gilstrap should've been gone after year one

Sources: UAB adds top FCS defensive coordinator to staff
Alabama State defensive coordinator Ryan Lewis is expected to join UAB's defensive staff, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.

Alabama State defensive coordinator Ryan Lewis is expected to join UAB's defensive staff, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.

Lewis is regarded as one of the rising stars in the profession after a 3-year stint at ASU that saw the Hornets post numerous top-10 rankings inFCS. Alabama State has ranked among the top 10 nationally in scoring defense each of the past three seasons.

This past year, the Hornets ranked in the top 10 across the board while going 7-5 on the season, placing third in total defense, eighth in rushing, seventh in passing efficiency defense, and fifth in scoring. Lewis's specific role on Trent Dilfer's staff has not been finalized, sources said. The Blazers are looking to rebound from a 3-9 season that saw them allow 34.3 points per game.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.

If Dilfer would have hired these type of coaches with college coaching experience in the first place, then maybe we wouldn't be calling for his and Ingram's head to begin with.

I imagine he was trying to get out on the cheap. Ingram has a bus league mentality.

I have learned that Ingram and Watts have increased funding for assistants and some other aspects. It’s a start.

I'll take it. As long as Watts realizes that Ingram got us into this damned mess by mismanaging the entire dept and is the root of the problem. But that's likely asking too much.

I don't want to ruin a lovely, cold Solstice by re-watching, but am I remembering correctly that when hired, the Dilfdo was prancing about, boasting that he took less money as his own salary so that the money could go to hiring the very best assistants?

If we are boosting the pool of money for new assistants, then I call bullshish on us not having the money to buy Dilfer out.

Yep the fact they will pay up for new coordinators and assistants is bass ackwards. Spend that money to buy out the dilfsaster and get him as far away from our program as possible.

Sione will not remain with the team he is assisting spring whatever is needed until his departure date. I forgot what day it is. Dilfer had a large staff of low paid low experienced coaches and analysts. They are flipping that now.
