One could say that Trent Dilfer's inches are bigger than Andy Kennedy's inches.

Three minutes into the second half, UAB led 59-32. KenPom gave Arkansas State a 1.3% probability of coming back to win the game. That’s the 8th lowest comeback (percentage-wise) so far this season.

Allowing opponents to overcome large deficits is something that has plagued AK teams for the last 2-3 seasons at a minimum.

RE: Arkansas State Red Wolves
The first half was UAB's best half all season. And it was probably AK States worst.
So when things reverted to the norm we somehow found a way to lose.
Disappointing as all get out because as others have said we have the talent to be top 2-3 in AAC.
I think everyone from the coaches to the fans to the players read our press clippings and expected a cakewalk to another NCAA tournament. It just does not work that way.
Haslemetrics says we "should win" 7 of our 18 conference games. I am not willing to be that negative yet. I say 9-9 or 8-10 at the worst if we can somehow play to 75% of our talent. And a chance at 10-8 if we can win road games at Tulane, ECU & Rice that Haslem thinks we will lose.

You may have the athletes and speed to press, but you don’t have anybody who is true to a position. No PGs, No Pure shooters, no true bigs.
When that length and speed lacks basketball IQ and intangibles, you get a bunch of individuals who can’t consistently play cohesively. When that IQ ain’t there, you aren’t sticking to assignments, making the right switches, finding the right spot in alignment, making the right pass, taking a high quality shot, etc.
You Diagnostics are spot on!!! Roundball IQ is lacking in most of the players on the floor last night, poor defensive man to man skills , really atrocious screening technique, and virtually no offensive flow when we arent getting a fast break opp.

Just like in game one, against Vermont, we gave up numerous layups. Our defenders were getting beat when manning up against Todd and Julien. At some point in the second half, both their stars had 3 fouls. We didn’t manage to get another foul called against them.
