why this guy is not on the bench
Why should Moore #5 come off the bench? He had 22 points, 6 of 12 from 3. 3 assists, 3 steals and zero turnovers.
By comparison, AJ was 1 of 5 from 3 and Butta was 1 of 6.
You want to give Moores starting job to one of them? Because he shot well?

He was one of the best shooters on the court, and had zero turnovers.

Probably the most spot on assessment I've read.
Yep, just two different stories.
Clark came into a program with no history and set the standard, but proved to hit a ceiling.
AK took over a storied program that was at a historical low. He got us back on the right track, but has struggled to do much out of conference/on a national level.
1 bad year doesn’t get a blazer legend fired. He’s just needs to do some serious basketball recruiting and stop with the school yard “give me the best athletes in PE” for dodge ball type recruiting.
You may have the athletes and speed to press, but you don’t have anybody who is true to a position. No PGs, No Pure shooters, no true bigs.
When that length and speed lacks basketball IQ and intangibles, you get a bunch of individuals who can’t consistently play cohesively. When that IQ ain’t there, you aren’t sticking to assignments, making the right switches, finding the right spot in alignment, making the right pass, taking a high quality shot, etc.

Travesty he's at 17 mins a game. Would love to develop a 10-11 man rotation.
Wow. Admittedly didn’t get to watch or listen to this game, but I checked in and we were up by 20 in the 2nd half. Next thing I knew, we were in OT.
You give up a 20pt lead in the 2nd half at home and that tells me you have major coaching issues, a team psyche problem, or likely some combo of the two. We definitely have some skill issues. Not athleticism issues. But knowledge of position and basketball IQ issues. With the SOS we have played, having a losing record is unacceptable. I’m still hopeful they can turn things around and have a good conference season. But I’m not liking the way in which we are losing games. It screams of a bad year and an extremely rare losing season.
I'm glad much of this core is done after this season. They just don't seem to care. They blew 20+ leads to Charlotte and Memphis last year as well and seem to have learned nothing from it.
I've seen a lot of Blazer basketball. I remember the music the Arena DJ plays when it was new (it sucked then, too). I'm pretty sure that 27 point lead is the largest ever given up by a UAB team (worst I recall is 22, to Old Dominion).
I married a Golden Girl, so I will be back Wednesday evening.
I feel bad for the fans that continue to show up and blow $ on this sh!t show of an athletics department. Ya'll try to stay loyal but the school just doesn't give a damn about you. You all deserve better.
Same old same old. Started off actually hitting some shots for once, but nothing else was different. Still charging to the basket with no plan and no passing. So frustrating ...
Moore is probably our most solid guard offensively, but we were subbing him out on plays late in the game for defense. It's obvious what the issue is there.
The stretch defense was the only thing that worked to slow them down all night. Still, two guys sliced us up and we did jack-nothing to stop them. It's unbelievable how many open 3-pointers we give up every single game too.
It was really easy to dislike 35 on their team with all his antics, but the dang kid had heart. Even after he got dunked on twice and had a busted lip he was begging and fighting to get back in the game. If just one of our bigs had that much heart, we'd probably be undefeated.
Of course I say that, then any time Ezewiro touched the ball and tried to play strong, the whistles blew blew blew.
Good game fellas. You guys played out of your minds in the first half. Lendonberg or however you say it is the best post we've seen this year that doesn't play for Alabama. I think in the end you guys missing shots in the 2nd half kept you out of your press and allowed us to go into our more traditional offensive game.
Good luck in AAC play. Feel free to beat Memphis for us.

Yeah, Nelson (#35) is the heart and soul of our team. He played here as a freshman when we were one of the worst teams in the country, had multiple calls from Power Conference schools, but has stayed the course. Turned down even more overtures after last season and convinced the rest of his family to move from Georgia to Jonesboro with him.
Its so rare these days to have a player that turned down all the money from the power conference schools to stay at a mid major that they instantly become the most popular player on the team.

With what most would’ve considered probably our best roster, if not - top 2 or 3 at worst, in that decade.
Epic failure of leadership and coaching from AK, and play and accountability and performance from the players - from Yax to Donahoo.
We have nice guys, wannabe IG stars. We don’t have winners, dogs, guys who have heart.
The one guy who does, Toney, doesn’t have the talent to always influence a game a ton. I don’t know that we have anyone else with any real fight to them.
They just all kind of play when they want to, meander around, sulk, and sleep walk through huge chunks of every game.
But at least since we lost in OT - AK can keep prattling on about how we’ve only lost close games and we’ve been THIS close!
