Yeah having the banner AND the profile photo the same is overkill.

Tryna push the crap outta that new wordmark. The university and athletics department DON'T NEED THE SAME WORDMARK! You don't see it at Alabama or Auburn.

Because dropping Blaze, and using "UAB" everywhere, reinforces their pitch that our west side is just an academic extension of UAT and doesn't prioritize athletics. Basketball would be next from the same argument that it's too expensive. And don't chirp back at me that they would never cancel basketball. They have proven over and over there's nothing they won't do...no moral line they won't cross. Athletics gone at UAB would be Bear's dream come true.

It seems to me that they need to add “.com” to the new branding and be done with it. Great goobly woobly.
