I do like the way we are playing but the Bears will definitely be a challenge. I have seen crazier things...

Cats won 93-62 against DIII Hardin Simmons (Our neighbor down the street). The game was more competitive than the score actually shows though. HSU was pretty athletic and were hitting 3s like there was no tomorrow. We have spurts that make me hopeful, but our defense really isn't much of anything like years past. Still wondering where all these new faces take us.

Shocking to see HSU's fine outside 3 point shooter was 6'10". He was popping 3's in with nothing but net. We had to change defensive strategy just because of this one dead-eye shooter. He did not look like a D3 recruit. But overall, this was a game that illustrated the difference between D1 athletes and D3 players. But overall, I like our new players and having some 3 point dead-eyes back at ACU. I am always impressed with guards 6'6" or taller who move very well and can shoot 3's or drive and stuff 2's.

ACU may be the over-performing team in the WAC this year.

I like a lot of what I see with the new players, but they just aren't as aggressive over-all on defense and still not rebounding the way they should. Of course, much of that is just Tanner. He doesn't like offensive rebounds and 2nd chance points. He wants the players to run back down the court after a shot and get set back up to defend. Also, they have difficulty shooting when pressured hard. I was a little shocked to see HSU's record was a bad as it was.
