Jack Smith moves to drop all J6 charges against Trump [Case officially dismissed]
WASHINGTON — Special counsel Jack Smith has filed a motion to drop all four felony charges against President-elect Donald Trump in connection with his effort to overturn his 2020 presidential election in the lead-up to the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S Capitol.
Trump was first indicted on four felonies in August 2023: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy against rights. The case was then put on hold for months as Trump’s team argued that Trump could not be prosecuted.
“The Government’s position on the merits of the defendant’s prosecution has not changed. But the circumstances have," Smith’s office wrote in Monday’s filing, adding that it is seeking to dismiss the charges ahead of Trump's inauguration, in line with the Justice Department’s longstanding position that it can’t charge a sitting president.
“That prohibition is categorical and does not turn on the gravity of the crimes charged, the strength of the Government’s proof, or the merits of the prosecution, which the Government stands fully behind," the special counsel added.

So much for "Saving Democracy". How long will it take for some people to realize they have been lied to about EVERYTHING for the past 9+ years? Suckers. I still have an old dude (71) that comes by the office telling us Trump will be put in jail. We laugh at him. I always say, "yeah, and Hunter's laptop is Russian Disinformation".

It was all political from the very beginning. There’s a reason why all liberal media have seen a drop-off in viewers. They were lied to for years about what was going to happen and kept the said on the edge of their seats waiting and waiting for absolutely nothing

Too little too late. This was not only weaponization of the justice system----it was attempted election interference---likely as part of a larger conspiracy with other government officials.
Jack Smith conduct and action with respect to this investigation will itself be investigated-----and his every action with respect to this investigation will be reviewed and carefully analyzed using the the same zeal and aggressive interpretation of the law as Jack Smith applied during his out of control prosecution of this case. If he didnt do anything wrong----then he has nothing to worry about. If he skirted rules and bent or ignored the law---he should expect to feel the full and total weight of the US DOJ fall upon him. After all----nobody is above the law---especially those that spent years in the system and should know better. I think we all know if we use the same standards of aggressive prosecutorial conduct Smith is know for, he has little chance of avoiding future prosecution. While I am not generally in favor of this kind of overly aggressive DOJ conduct---I think this case has to be aggressively pursued in order to send a stark and terrifying message to every other career government bureaucrat that political weaponization of government by unelected bureaucratic officials is career suicide and a good way to experience personal financial ruin due to never ending legal costs.....and thats the cost if you are ultimately found innocent----you might spend a good portion of your life in prison if you are found guilty.

Oh, they "realize" it plenty. They just will never admit to what all this horseschit really was.
Election interference and attempts at keeping the Drumpf from having his 2nd term.
Just think, you clods- Don't pull all your BS for 4 yeas and you'd be done with him in a few weeks. Now he's been the headliner with turnip truck squatting in the Oval and you get a total of 12 years of MAGA!
Solid plan.

He should be prosecuted for violation of civil rights. He violated every other DOJ and FBI procedure and committed perjury to the courts.
You might try to get him for stealing government funds and making an illegal campaign contribution to the Democrats, but it actually helped Trump!

Needs to be told he has to pay that back. Total waste of time, money, effort and pay for the POTUS legal fees as well. Every dime. Prosecutorial misconduct.

This is what winning looks like, folks.
And, libs, your side just keeps losing. As you should.
All this garbage was a witch-hunt to keep Trump from running and/or winning.
You lose and the libs behind this colossal waste of time and taxpayer money should be prosecuted.

What a coward. The slimy filthy sewer RAT is now deciding to drop the charges.
I hope he gets stripped of his legal license. Trash like this doesn’t need to be anywhere near a court of justice.
Oh where oh Where art thou Tanq to defend this trash?
