I'm not stupid—I even managed to get a college degree—but this reads like utter gobbledygook to me:

The course description stated that the course will compare two visions of society that many have thought could not be joined.

“While queer studies emerged in part as a rejection of Marxism’s totalizing approach and Marxists have criticized the queer emphasis on individuals, this seminar explores the potential of bringing the two fields together,” it says.

The course will not explore this possible union of the two theories by one taking over the other. Students will study a dual influence, examining the effect of one theory on the other, and vice versa.

“We will consider how queer critiques of reproductive futurism, racial capitalism, and homonationalism can transform the legacy of Marxist theory and practice,” the description says. “At the same time, we will examine Marxist notions of totality, reification, and value to re-envision the scope of queer politics.”

I remember when I was a kid, "queer" was a slur. Now it's a compliment or something? Hard to keep up with those on the far left:

How about we just throw both toxic ideologies into the ashbin of history?

There are plenty of other courses your aspiring professional could take as well:

The university’s Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program is offering Queer Marxism. The program’s mission is to “to address some of the most important issues the world faces today,” particularly “by offering students the opportunity to study a wide range of fields from the perspectives of feminist and LGBTQIA critical analysis, in global and local contexts and with the purpose of promoting social justice.”

This is what people talk about when they refer to out-of-touch ivory towers. How any of this is supposed to help you get a job when you graduate is beyond me. On second thought, I see it now: it prepares you to become a far-left professor or perhaps an MSNBC anchor (if that outlet is even still around by the time your kid graduates).

I know one thing: I will not lay out a single dime for my kids to attend this drivel.

Some exceptions here and there. But by and by, American colleges/universities have just gone to sh¡t. Totally useless.

I agree with that, as far as it goes.

But the problem with this stuff — bullsh¡t courses taught by extreme-Left faculty — goes much deeper than just a few weird electives for a few weird students.

TBH, any student that is interested in taking such a course is already beyond changing his/her/its opinions, so it is what it is. The moment a school makes a class like that mandatory for all for graduation is when I'd have an issue.
