MTG to chair DOGE congressional subcommittee to work with Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy
Quote:Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene is expected to be named as the chair of a forthcoming House subcommittee that will work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.
A source familiar with the matter said that House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer is expected to establish the subcommittee, with the subcommittee being named the Delivering on Government Efficiency Subcommittee. It will focus on eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse in the federal government, and is expected to investigate wasteful spending, identify solutions to eliminate bureaucratic red tape, and look at ways to reorganize federal agencies to increase efficiency.
A source familiar with the matter told Fox News that Comer has met with Ramaswamy and the incoming DOGE team. Ramaswamy confirmed the meeting with Comer and Greene to the outlet. Ramaswamy is "supportive of the Oversight Committee’s endeavor and are already working together," the source told the outlet.
A spokesperson for Ramaswamy said, "A key step to driving greater efficiency in government is exposing the problem to the public—we are grateful that the House Oversight Committee has created a subcommittee to focus on this work. We look forward to working together."
Comer said that the new subcommittee "will align with the Trump administration’s priorities to eliminate government waste, streamline the federal government’s operations and cut red tape that’s stifling jobs and increasing costs for the American people." He added, "I look forward to working with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to deliver on these goals to Make America Great Again."
"I’m excited to chair this new subcommittee designed to work hand in hand with President Trump, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy and the entire DOGE team," Greene said in a statement. "We will identify and investigate the waste, corruption and absolutely useless parts of our federal government."
Greene said the subcommittee will provide "transparency and truth to the American people through hearings." She said that "no topic will be off the table" and "the goal of DOGE is to bring accountability and GUT useless government agencies."

Vivek and Elon are smart enough for the 3 of them. Doesn't matter that MTG doesn't add to the collective IQ.

MTG seems a strange choice.

We usually agree, but not on this one. This is an important task, maybe the biggest ever. Why leave yourself open to the possibility of needless side shows that detract from the mission?

I need a list to keep up, lol. I still don't like it, b/c I think both MTG and Gaetz create unnecessary little rain clouds that distract from the original mission.

This is the question I keep asking myself regarding most of these picks.

None of them have said if those 83 gazillion IRS workers will keep their jobs or not. Why? Are they afraid of an audit? Just being facetious here...about the audit.

Most? Only if you look through a blue lens, maybe. I just don't care for Gaetz for AG or MTG heading the DOGE Committee. That list is pretty short for me.
The rest of Trump's appointments besides Gaetz look fine to me. And I just wish Comer would name somebody besides MTG to head the Committee.

Looking forward to having the Jewish Space Laser funding removed from the federal budget.

I understand her and RFK Jr., loyalty picks, but I don't like either of them. Gaetz is a loyalty pick I am yet to be convinced on, but he might do some good things. Same for the DOD guy. Both seem to have little hesitation to doing much needed purging, but my reservations are on everything else they do.

Looking forward to you getting even more embarrassed as things get worse and worse for "your side".

That's BS. She's a lot sharper than she's given credit for. If all you ever hear from her are the snippets the MSM likes to throw out there then it's understandable that you could feel that way. If you isolate her speech away from the BS the MSM tries to wrap it up in she is a very bright and articulate woman.

Not to me. She is brash and outspoken, qualities the whole endeavor needs to possess if it hopes to succeed. She has long harped on our governments inability to operate within a budget, likening it to the business and household she runs. I wouldn't underestimate her.
It appears that Elon and Vivek see something in her they like too so...
