When I became a Democrat, it was the more tolerant party. Republicans were run by religious nut jobs and corporate robots. Now, the Democrats are in a lot of ways the less tolerant party.

The least tolerant part is actually the establishment wing of the party that says anyone opposing their anointed leaders is committing heresy. If you try to give constructive criticism of the party to improve it, they drive you from the party while screaming, “He’s not a real Democrat!!”

They hate populists. They have become the corporate robots I couldn’t stand. They hate their base. They insult our intelligence by pretending that the donors are not in charge. They think we should be controlled and learn how to follow orders. And they have no idea how elitist they sound.

Predictably, their unironic reaction to this post will be, “Heretic!!”

Yeah I don't agree with him on most things but I don't mind people who are not lunatics but who have a different opinion. I've got friends who are liberal. I don't have friends who are progressive nuts.

I've never listened to them, nor will I ever listen to them. They're left-wingers posing as right-wing grifters because they're losing money. They've attacked right-wingers for years. They went after Michael Savage every time he said something during the Obama years.

I'm with you and Andy (andybible, I mean). I once thought they were at least libertarian when I had first heard of them, but they turned out to be hardcore leftists. Besides, I expect this random act of clarity from Cenk and the rest to subside on Inauguration Day. Then, it'll be back to business as usual.

My thoughts exactly.

My opinion is that people change their minds politically for tangible reasons. An event or series of events changes peoples thought process. When that change occurs it’s usually a BIG 100% shift. And that’s fine. After a while they calm down. Still make the change but come to accept it and are good with it.

In my life, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a change from a conservative to a lib. Only vice versa. That speaks volumes.

The dem party is the elite party, the Establishment. They don’t care about engaging people or hearing new ideas now that they control most of the institutions. Their point is to protect those institutions and norms

I probably agree on very few things, but the two of them at least will show up on a podcast that leans right. Hell, I saw on you tube that they brought Paul Bet David onto their show the day after the election. Doubt Paul appeared anywhere else in that space the last week.

The establishment of both parties need people who are allowed to hold different views or they risk losing their base.

Corporations, money, the media and advertising can only do so much.

But I suspect both parties get back on track and be able to keep nearly all people voting for them.

There is nothing either side fear more than losing their base duopoly.

I just find it amazing that the people that work in Independent media and do the podcasts, with some exceptions, don't mind doing each other's shows regardless of views. Have you seen anyone from the 24 hour networks go on Rogan? I mean CNN sent the doctor during COVID, but we see how that went.
