If he follows the rules I'm fine with that, it is his right.

I’d rather have Gaetz not get confirmed than the FBI director be Rogers

I think HHS should be higher…much higher but other than that I agree with this list

Per AP, the current vote totals have trump with 76,562,824 votes. Everyone else is at 76,472,523. So right now, he has 90,298 more votes. And he could even end up behind when all the votes are done being counted.

How many states did these other candidates win? Won an overall majority of votes. Won a massive majority of states. Won large majority of electors. Plus, a psot election polls now says 58% believe that the US will be on the right track once Trump takes over (thats bigger than his election margin). Looks like a mandate to me. Debate over.

Per the Cook Political Report, trump is now below 50%, at 49.90%. So, more people voted for someone else than him. That's NOT a mandate according to any normal standard definition of the term in elections. At least it didn't use to be. I know you all like to suspend the norm when justifying your undying love for your master. 07-coffee3

I agree that it isn’t a “mandate” definitionally.

By that logic, Biden had a bigger mandate in 2020 and everyone knew the country was clearly divided.

This election did have a stark contrast in directions though. A lot of issues were on the ballot, and the GOP cleaned up where it had to take control.

That election was an anomaly, as there was a viable 3rd party candidate, for about the first time ever. Apples and Oranges.

Really? Cuz Democrats fought to keep RFK on the ballot despite the fact he supported Trump (that's of course after the Democrat "defenders of democracy" had spent a full year trying to keep him OFF state ballots). RFK is a 3rd Party candidate that got 745,375 votes....Jill Stein, another 3rd Party candidate got roughly the same....Even if we assume your logic is correct----what we absolutlly KNOW is the election result is clearly NOT a mandate for "more of the same"---something libs seem incapable of comprehending at all. The people clearly mandated change---and given the post election poll results that 58% believe the US will be on the right track ONCE Trump takes office----it sure seems to me that there is a mandate for the key items of the MAGA agenda----fix the border, reduce crime, fix the economy, put American citizens FIRST in trade/foreign affairs, and try to bring peace to the Ukraine and Middle East conflicts. I dont think there is much debate there. I dont think the American people will have much patience for a Party seen to be blocking those priorities.

Let's hope saner minds prevail and talk some sense into this selection. If he wants another Comey or Wray then go with Rogers.

This is crazy, these numbers change often but last I checked per the AP, trump had 76,728,277 votes. All others had 76,728,674 votes. A difference of 397 out of over 150 million votes. Talk about a divided country! 04-jawdrop
