Or he fears the pandoras box that will be opened by it.

Its already been done

President Obama made 32 recess appointments, all to full-time positions. During his presidency, President William J. Clinton made 139 recess appointments, 95 to full-time positions and 44 to part-time positions. President George W. Bush made 171 recess appointments, 99 to full-time positions and 72 to part-time positions.

But by all means

Reeeeeeee03-hissyfit away

How many to cabinet positions?

Specifically, where is cabinet position in the Constitution?

That is the point. The lower level positions don't have nearly the impact. I'm sure there are people on both sides excited or upset over changing another unwritten rule in the Congress. At some point there will be no oversight of the Executive branch and that will be a huge problem.

It doesn’t matter if the appointments are lower level or high level. The truth is we have allowed recess appointments in the past, and nobody batted an eye. Either you’re against the rule or not.

By that same logic, you must have been against McConnell nuking the SCOTUS filibuster in response to Harry Reid breaking one of the biggest unwritten rules in the history of the Senate. Play to win and push the agenda, instead of groveling to those who are going to break norms as soon as they are powerful again.

Making democrats mad is more important though.

The same democratic senators that tried to end the filibuster in 2021, but were two votes short.

We should play ball with them!

Both sides are at fault. I'm not putting blame solely on the Republicans or Trump, I just think it sucks. I don't like our elected politicians acting like petulant children.

Both sides are not at fault, that doesn’t make any sense.

The Democrats are always the aggressor on “shaking up the senate.” The GOP has consistently tried to convince Dems from breaking norms and changing rules for quick power grabs. If one team is getting away with fouling, and you don’t return the favor on your end, then that’s on you.
