Given my theory (and while it is only my theory, it is hard to disprove) that the VP is always dumber than the P, that Air-head could easily have been Kamala's running mate.

If not for the outside chance they could have won, I would have loved to watch those campaign speeches for the high-comedy.

This may be the exception to rule at least in my lifetime (mid 60's). I am not ready to label JD better / same / worse yet though.

The two that stick out are Mondale and Harris. Jimmy and Joe are arguably the two worst President's in the last 100 years and both were far superior to their running mates. Dan Quayle is a really close 3rd.

Conservatives are tested in the crucible of severe criticism, innuendo, slander, libel, lawfare, intimidation and death threats. It tends to hone skills and build toughness. On the other hand, protected "Progressives" seldom face the same amount and intensity of adversity and thus produce vapid Harris, Walz, and AOC types unable to cope with the slightest challenge or form coherent thoughts.
