I think Izayiah Nelson was out for Ark state last night, too. Or at least I saw noise on X that he was expected to be out.

They're projected to win the sun belt and their coach was an assistant under Oats for a long time. It would be a very good W if we can pull it off

Vermont 51 - Merrimack 65. Ugh!!!

Vermont drops to 123 in KenPom, and Merrimack rises to 177.

Vermont is now 1-2.

One game at a time and see where the dominos fall. Vermont looking like a bid killer.

Just throw a big win streak together and see where we are, going into conference play.

What a terrible loss to start the season. From this point forward I hope we start against a scrub team or a top 25 team.

I don’t mean this to disrespect Vermont, but I kind of coped with the loss in my mind, building them up to be a really solid team.

The more I thought about it the more I realized that wasn’t true.

Vermont was not that good. I think Bradley last year was better.

A really unexplainable performance for this team riding all the tailwinds everyone has mentioned previously. AK REALLY, really, really, really, never has his teams ready to go early in the season. Very disappointing.

I had respect for them in what theyve accomplished. To do that, you have to do the basics right. You can beat anybody on the right day.

We just happened to be the ones beat by average talent, but yet a cohesive team.

Can offset that loss with a 30 pt win over a q2 team.

I know it’s extremely early in the season, but it appears there are only two bad teams in the AAC. I’m surprised how highly ranked FAU is in some of these rankings. It’s going to be a dogfight, but Memphis is the prohibitive favorite.

He has missed both of the first two games, but is on the roster.

I think a lot of the rankings carry over the last ten games from last season, which would explain FAU.

I doubt Hargrove is going to stick around. He was a package deal to get yax and yax leaves after this year. He probably goes to a lower level program closer to home.
And is Chatman a center? He is 6-7 215.
While his overall stats are modest,he is 10 of 22 from 3 in 7 games. 45.5%.
Verbal commits has him as a wing but they are often wrong. I suspect he is a 4 who might be able to play the wing some.
I don't understand Carr. He averaged 8.6 ppg and 3.8 rpg last year. The UAB site shows higher stats....he averaged 12.3 points,10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game.

I said I could be wrong. But AK gives you hint every time in the short write up. Usually when a guy is listed as forward its a frontcourt deal. We've seen a few centers on the roster. Also UAB listed Chatman at 6'8 for a reason. Carr and Miles (last season signee) are G/F but we probably see the in the frontcourt. Could see Hargrove and Kennedy bounce.
