But I'll only believe that on (or sometime after) Nov. 6. I think that there are just not enough votes to counter the Mr. X selfish set - - sucking off the taxpayer teet in DC, but unwilling to put up with the high taxes or crime that comes from living in the capital district or the Maryland suburbs.
What MIGHT be happening instead - - as noted by hburg - - is that little Timmy Kaine is suddenly concerned that Hung Cao may be gaining on him, and went crying to his DNC overlords. While there are lots of NoVA voters unwilling to cast a vote for Donald Trump, that is specific to him. As we saw with the Youngkin/Sears/Miyares sweep in 2021, even the blue-leaning voters of Northern Virginia will only eat so much of the America-hating Democrat crap that is being fed to them.
With Kamala performing as badly as it appears, the Democrat machine may have decided to try to throw a last-minute lifeline to the twerp Kaine. I'd be so happy if he went down to defeat.

Yep just living it up here in the burbs suckling off the DC teet. Not paying any taxes is the life! How stupid of me to choose to live in VA when I moved here because that is where the office was.
Our car taxes for the year are higher then many counties property tax. Why do we have good schools? Property taxes. And we are selfish because we don’t agree with politically? Tone down the rhetoric
You funny.
It is one of the many reasons I am hoping for a Trump victory. Part of the Musk efficiency program, I presume, will be to break up the bureaucratic morass surrounding DC and spread it across the country:
--> Energy Dept. to Texas.
--> Homeland Security to Florida.
--> Agriculture Dept. to Iowa.
--> Commerce Dept. to New Jersey.
--> Interior Dept. to Utah.
--> Labor Dept. to Michigan.
--> Transportation Dept. to Missouri.
--> Health & Human Services to California.
--> Education to the trash heep.
The only departments that should remain resident in DC are State, Treasury, Justice and Defense.
So where will your job be taking you, Mr. X.?
To my desk in my home office. I don’t work for the government nor does my employer have any government contracts.

Sure we are mandated by law to protect customer’s personal information. Or would you prefer that be available to anyone who asks for it?
