The only thing I can come up with is margin of victory seems to be an unwritten factor, and have the absolute WORST HC in the history of football when it comes to running up the score or putting opponents away early!

I still laugh every time that I read you saying that you think Whitten is the worst HC in history. That's a total joke, and one of the most asinine comments in history. Tarleton has had a history of winning. They have done an absolute EXCELLENT job of transitioning to DI under Whitten, and are currently highly ranked in every major poll. The fact that he doesn't meet your personal expectation has zero bearing on his coaching and record, which is quite good. Tarleton is well positioned for the play-offs and Whitten will certainly go down in history as helping to put Tarleton on the DI map, as well as being dominant in DII and the LSC. As competitive as ACU has been able to remain, we have not had a coach as successful. Regardless of what happens this season, Whitten has done nothing but good things for Tarleton.

Dude, that's just perspective.

Dude, that's just opinion. An opinion of ignorance pertaining to a subject you know absolutely nothing about.

Yes, it's an opinion but not an opinion that I am ignorant of. I am fairly knowledgeable of the LSC history and FCS in general and the perspective surrounding that, as well as football schemes, recruiting, etc... All of which went into my statement of the subject matter. Also, all of which is pretty accurate in the bigger picture of things. Again, yours personally, or as a basic fan of your own team and tunnel visioned on what THAT means is your personal perspective.

When I start telling you all about the inner dynamics over at UTA, I'd expect you to tell me to stay in my lane too.

After last nights results the UAC will be lucky to get 2 teams in the playoffs. I think UCA is toast. You can not get your arse whipped by winless Utah Tech and expect to remain in the polls. Tarleton's loss last night was bad do not get me wrong, but UCA's loss was an absolute disaster.

So opinions can't be stated unless said poster attended that particular institution?

I am definitely a little worried about the UAC getting more than one team in now.

I might tell you you're wrong, but that'd be the extent. Thought you started a free speech thread too...01-lauramac2

Nobody is telling any fan of a particular institution about the inner workings/dynamics of their institutions. If anyone read that, they completely misread what was being posted. What was being posted was outside perspective on their institution's performances, which indeed, every fan needs. We all get tunnel vision regarding our inner circles: schools, churches, social circles, etc... Outside voices are always important to help us balance ours. They are never about right or wrong. They are about perspective and balance. I always look back to a certain book I read about my church's history when I was in seminary. It was written by a catholic scholar. It was the best book I had ever read on my church movement/history, and I was in classes with some of the best known church historians of my churches movement at the time. I never disagreed that With many of the comments made of Whitten. I did state that other coaches made similar mistakes and that his over-all record would be one of the better historical ones in terms of wins and losses and what he did for the transition of Tarleton. I never said he shouldn't be replaced, but I objected to him being called the worst in history because is simply false. Now, is that fairly hypocritical considering some of my language I use when mentioning some of my own schools players and coaches? Maybe, as it is similar in strength but not scope. IT and I are fairly similar in a lot of ways. I can empathize with IT and other fans. Like others have posted, this is why these threads are valuable, much more valuable than our own personal fan-based threads, because they DO go beyond our personal space in every way.

RE: FCS Playoff Selection Committee
Now, back to play-off selection committee discussion. What is going to happen with both UCA and Tarleton going down? All 3 top playoff contenders can't win out. UCA can, but I think it's too late for them. Either ACU or Tarleton will lose to each other come 11/16. Can both still make it? I am skeptical.
