Agree. I don’t think we will do better than Penny.

I'm not advocating that we get rid of Penny... but there are several coaches who could take the advantages that a program like Memphis has right now...and be successful here.

Bottom line, Penny needs a sweet 16 run next season. Anything less is a failure IMO. Should have been this season. The deck was stacked in our favor. A sweet 16 this season would have solidified him as our coach in my mind. Now we are going on year 6 (5 possible NCAAT appearances). That is enough time for any coach worth having to get a Sweet 16 at Memphis. When I filled out my bracket, I was happy to see that we had a Sweet 16 coming and we could all relax about Penny. Unfortunately, now we move on to next season without the question answered.

Will likely never have a better path to a sweet 16 than this season. Still a shame. I'm not discounting FAU, but we had the lead & the ball with 10 sec to play & we lost. It's still killing me (not as much as 2008). But we should be playing. I haven't seen anyone we can't beat.

Agree. We had as open of a path to the final four as you will get. If not for 10 seconds of some of the worst playing in our history. But, we had a couple of other games this year where we had it won and gave the game away in the closing seconds.
