Yes, meat was left on the bone. Yes, this team had the *possibility* of more. I don’t feel it underachieved because once you hit loss 5, you are basically a three-day crapshoot in Frisco. We hit the number last year, didn’t this year.

We also left meat on the bone every football season since 2017 but overall I am very happy with our program.

But we also couldn’t have measured in those preseason expectations that FAU would field the best team in its history and probably the best C-USA squad since Memphis was in the league. Our improvements — and I do think we are a little better than last year — didn’t happen in a vacuum. The other guys were trying to win too
