NFL is handling the lack of a result in that game terribly, in making accomodations for KC/Buffalo/Baltimore that have negative ramifications on the Bengals.

KC gets an easier path to the bye.
Buffalo gets a path to not going to KC and gets at least the 2 seed with a win.
Bengals (who were about 60% to win when the game was canceled) have no control over getting better than the 3 seed. They are eliminated from the 1 seed they would have gotten with 2 wins and a KC loss. Have no control over avoiding needing to go at Buffalo and at KC to make the Super Bowl. AND have a scenario where they could win the division and start the playoffs on the road.

It's a ridiculous plan by the NFL, but that doesn't change the fact that the Bengals did the right thing and would (and should) do it again every damn time.

You can't be serious. There's absolutely no way Buffalo could have emotionally played that game Tuesday when Hamlin's life was still in the balance. I suspect they may have forfeited if asked

Mark is right. I think KC definitely comes out roses in this as they were behind Buffalo on tiebreaker and come out needing to beat the Raiders to get the by and #1 seed.

I hadn't considered Buffalo was gettting a break but I think he lays out that case well.

Cincinnati is certainly getting the short straw but if they weren't willing to push the playoffs back a week and eliminate the bye between the confrerence championships and SB then I don't see a better scenario although I wonder if a Cincinnati/Baltimore game if separated by 1/2 should have gone neutral vs coin flip although as poorly as Baltimore's playing I suspect that is going to be moot anyway.
