Jelly is still hitting crazy shots but seems to be more erratic htis season with some dumb turnovers. Doesnt seem like UAB is doing the little things to win right now and defense is lacking. Finally WKU is playing like all WKU fans thought we would preseason, just hope its not too late. 1-10 some pretty even teams in my view of CUSA this season.

Jelly and Gaines both make poor decisions, especially in crunch time. UAB had every chance to win all 3 of the conference games they lost, and just couldn't do it. We need to find a way to be calm in clutch situations, but those two players aren't really built for that.

What did you do last season? Jelly was clutch last year. Agree its hard to repeat in anything so that is an obstacle.

Mike Ertel and Quan Jackson graduated. You had 2 other guards on the floor with more experience than Jelly Walker and you couldn't focus on him alone. Quan was one of the most dominant defensive guards in the conference. Mike was dominant in the midgame and had a respectable 3 point percentage himself.

Eric Gaines is a ridiculous athlete, but lives off of that talent and needs some more game experience to get there.

So we have a backcourt that doesn't have the physicality, height and weight, to be at this level by themselves. We're having to cover that up with a 1-3-1 and 2-3 zone.
