Mine was, as always, completely serious.

On the Trehern letter etc. . . . I believe he's talking about something very different than are the rest of us (for the most part). "Team" and "Program" are not the same thing. After The Return, most of us are deeply invested (often literally so) in The Program. We made this thing happen, and we do not want it placed in the hands of someone incapable of nurturing it, protecting it, making it flourish. We know how easy it would be to slip back into the Trustee-desired Brown Stain mediocrity.

Everything Matthew writes about Bryant Vincent could well be true, from the point of view of the Team. And it's heartbreaking to read, as he obviously wrote it himself.

Unfortunately, little of it is relevant to the Program.

Meanwhile, we await the sight of white smoke above the Sistine Chapel.
