RE: 2022 Football Week 8 vs Summit County Community College
I think injuries are contributing on defense. I know Johns and Richardson were huge losses. I didn't notice CJ West out there Saturday, not sure how serious his injury is. Bolden played but he's been banged up several times this year. I don't think we have enough talent on defense to sustain injuries to our best players. It's also pretty telling that we've always had fringe NFL players on defense. Even in the dark days of Haynes we had Holley and Monday. I can't think of a single defensive player through the Lewis era that was a legitimate NFL prospect. I know we're getting a lot of high major transfers but it's not resulting in more notable players. Maybe part of it is just lack of coverage? No Dave so there's no one to hype up the potential of the guys we have?
