He's run a more open version of the bone for years... adapting as Ken struggled to... but I'd be REALLY tempted to make this switch, if he were interested... and I'm sure he'd love to stick it to Navy for the next decade... and knows how to beat other teams in the AAC

I'm certain our AD and Niumatalolo know one another. They all know one another. Maybe Karlgaard reaches out to offer his condolences and wish him the best? That's probably all it would take to communicate... 'I'm sorry you lost your job. It was a raw deal, but you have a future, and possibly with Rice.' I certainly don't see anything unethical with that.

And while I'd let others decide for themselves if this is the right thing to do or not... but wouldn't it be great to let a coach go who's on the hot seat BECAUSE we had another coach in mind/in hand already?

This is essentially how the Fred to Ken switch happened. We didn't let him go, but because they all knew each other, the communication was open and it all worked well for Rice, which is all I care about,.
