You're thinking that it doesn't happen because it makes no sense. I have come to the conclusion that is why it happens.
For about 35 years, I was a regular member of the football and basketball stat crews. That meant that about once a week, I was on campus in the company of a large part of the athletic department staff. First topic of conversation an alarming number of times was something like, "Guess what they did this week that is even dumber than what they did last week."

Right, and you haven't been to a Rice sporting event or even been on campus in a good number of years, yet you post (always negative) as if you're still in the know.

I don't have to buy a ticket and sit in the stands to tell that the big decisions they are making are nonsensical. And I ave no intention of wasting money on a nonsensical organization.
