Herman wasn’t coming to Rice. Not after UT and UH. For him, we’re a dead end. FAU has been a stepping stone for a number of a coaches and a chance at redemption.

We're seen as a 'dead end' to many good candidates. It's too damn hard to win at Rice. Good candidates steer clear of our mess. They don't want their careers to suffer. I bet GJ Kinne would have been interested. I'm happy Texas State was able to land him. He'll do well.
