I agree. I think we are getting used to seeing amazing kicks in the NFL and get unrealistic expectations for college kickers. At least recent kicking history at UC has led us not to expect too much. Although it wasnt that long ago we had Jonathan Ruffin who won the award for best collegiate kicker.

Ruffin didn't have 50 yard range either. He just became automatic from 30 to 45

On the subject of kickers, did I read Coe is in the portal? Anyone have any insight on that? He was a critical element of UC's scoring this season and could have really helped in the coming transition year. It's not like he wouldn't have enhanced his national profile either, playing in the Big 12.

Already transferred to UNC. He was recruited here by Brian Mason and likely wanted to play for a team that wasn't going to struggle mightily next year.

wouldn't such a team present a kicker with more opportunities to showcase his wares?
