RE: 2022 College Football Season Thread
The College Football Playoff will officially expand to 12 teams during the 2024 season, the playoff's board of managers announced Thursday.

Quote:The expanded 12-team bracket will feature the six highest-ranked conference champions as automatic qualifiers along with the next six highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded 1-4 with first-round byes. The next four highest-ranked teams (Nos. 5-8) will host the first-round matchups. The CFP Selection Committee will continue to determine weekly ratings with criteria to be reevaluated in the future.

Sounds like access for the Big12 has only improved slightly. I assume 6 highest ranked conference champions means the P5 champs plus the highest ranked G5 Conf Champ. Where we have more wiggle room is to be included in that "the next six highest-ranked teams". Although we all know those will be B1G and SEC teams most years.
