RE: Dodd: Big Ten interest in additional Pac-12 teams has cooled, Big 12 positioned well
Is Dennis Dodd a B12 cheerleader or something?

He wrote an article why the merge between B12 and Pac would make sense a few days before the talk was called off. His aricle about the BIG expansion made a zaeo sense. This is what I said right after his original article.

Dodd’s report doesn’t make sense to me.

He said,

Warren told CBS Sports the addition of any teams beyond USC and UCLA (joining in 2024) would come after the current media rights deal is finalized in August.

But Dodd also said,

Still, rightsholders who land portions of the lucrative Big Ten deal (still being negotiated) would be forced to outlay additional funds for those schools. The Big Ten's contract is already projected to be north of $1 billion annually.

How and why would the BIG add new schools after the media deal is done if FOX has to pay more for the new additions?

The bottom line in the report is that the addition of those four schools won’t make sense unless these schools get a significant permanent revenue cut. In other words, this would be very serious unequal revenue sharing.

Unless ND is in play, I don’t think the BIG will move.
