RE: How to make Tiger football more important to students

All seats between the 40 yard lines all the way to the top behind the visiting bench should be student seats. Put the band about a third of the way up in that section. That would increase excitement at the game by a factor of double or triple.
Make certain that the stupid advertising games the students take part in pay off significantly. Every participant receives $100 credit at student book store, and winners get $1000 scholarship certificates for fees and tuition, and there should always be winners. This alone will get many more students to pick up their free tickets.
Have a drawing at the end of every home game with awards of more $100 to $500 certificates. Winner must be present to collect. Students would stay til the end of the game.
Make it fun and worth their while and just maybe they might become Tiger fans. If they are fans they might come to games after graduation.
All of this should have happened 20 years ago, but if it happens now it would payoff big time in the next 10 to 15 years. Maybe sooner!
Putting several thousand energetic 18 to 22 year olds in the middle of Liberty Stadium gets her out of the unexciting group of arenas. And builds fans for the future.
None of this is too expensive. The companies that get their products advertised now would foot the bill for the certificates. There are some fans who buy season tickets (not that many really) in that section who would have to move over 1 section but they would get a more exciting environment. The seats where the students sit now could be the walk up cheap seats. Student fans should be a priority, not an after thought! Making students more important would make it more important to students!
This sounds good to me as long those fans who would have to change seats didn't mind.
