It is basically built like an old high school stadium and the fact that it is aluminum, steel or whatever is causing a bunch of problems now. It is rusting out in so many places that it is going to be a nightmare to maintain.

The UCF stadium got them out of an off-campus municipal stadium into the B12. They are likely to have plenty of money to repair/rebuild. Have you seen their long term plans?

A damn stadium did not get them into the B12. Their fan support, record, potential growth and market got them into the B12. Southern Miss has an OCS, where did that stadium get them?

Yes even USM in the poorest state in the union, being the 3rd rated public university in MS could build an OCS. That tells me the city of Memphis has & will use our university for the city's financial gain & will make decisions about our university in the city's best interest.

I may be wrong, but I believe in TN the OCS for every college was originally provided with a lot of help from the State.

I figure there's a 99.99_9% chance that is correct.

Also, Memphis was probably the only town with a state supported college that had an existing municipal football stadium. I'm sure Crump was looked at as a budget friendly alternative, at least, and likely as a much better stadium than what an OCS would have been at the time. (I don't remember the history, i.e., whether the Tigers played on a previous municipal field prior to Crump or at the old practice field.)
