I have been telling people for years you must study for yourself what the actual message Jesus taught in the NT. I often point out the RCC because its by far the largest denomination of all. And it seems to place less importance on the Word of God than almost any other major denomination.

But that does not mean protestant denominations do not also cloud peoples views with their denominational chains as well. They absolutely do.

Protestants are more likely to study the Bible in a serious manner though.
