Marshall is a "leftover" as they were not part of Conference USA's mass exodus to the AAC. Marshall perceived a major upgrade going to C-USA but now C-USA has Kennesaw State. The times they are a changin' and Marshall could have had better rivalries with the MAC. UT and MU had a great intense rivalry in late 90's and early 2000's. They never again developed the fan interest they had while in the MAC.

I didn't realize they had so fallen off the rails. Part of me says "Yay!" and part "that's a shame." They had a .... rabid fanbase.

Marshall is in the Sun Belt. Pretty good conference.
