So what is the problem? Everyone knew what they were getting into, right? I mean is it a problem?

Your problem at present is that App State and Coastal are pushing hard for the SBC to get rid of its non-football schools. And they have the support of the entire Eastern Division at present.

The real issue App has is we've spent decades in conferences that have allowed members that didn't support FB. We've seen what happens when they don't fully support BB and the drain that happens on conference perceived strength. But we've also been on the other side of that; when a school fully finances the sport and dominates the conference (Davidson/CoC/UNCG).

Honestly, there's not an athletic department that will force a vote to remove any members. And if UTA leaves for the MVC I think the LR/ASU travel arrangements work in favor of the eastern members. At least until the possibility of an ECU add to the conference; 15 is not bad.

Would LR fans rather be in the SBC or in an OLY only OVC that puts focus on basketball?

I for one would much rather be in the Sun Belt than any other options we have. I think the new additions make our basketball stronger

Change is often exciting and I have enjoyed "studying" our possible options. But, in the end, I agree with Karl. Staying in the "new and improved" Sun Belt would really be better than any other option out there. Not even sure I would rather be in the MoValley, if that was actually an option for us. But, if they did offer us a spot it would solve the problem in a way that would make everyone happy. Actually, the teams that the MoValley is looking at adding, UTA, UMKC, and Murray State (along with the recent addition of Belmont) would give the league a much more southern flavor and all be natural rivals for us. Just doesn't appear to be in the cards for us at this time.
