They absolutely will. I think they under estimate the change it will have. There is little doubt they will compete eventually, but their first few seasons are going to have some sticker shock for their fans, I imagine. Recruiting is definitely a different animal than they deal with currently. A fringe/bench player at G5 can go to JMU and start and win a championship. Now that wont be the case. They will look like any other sunbelt team during recruiting. It wont be as easy as they think it will be.

Sad thing is, I think that part will happen quickly. Sunbelt has not been good in basketball so they should be able to compete for titles immediately there. There is more dead weight in basketball in the SB than there is in the CAA. But good for them if they can raise their program to something other than a doormat. Its been a long time coming for that one. The SB certainly opens that door day 1.
