Their current ranking really doesn't matter. The same can be said for the Big Ten. Odds are, that the Big Ten Champion with 1 win or less is getting in. So it doesn't matter where MSU, Mich and OSU will be ranked on Tuesday.

It also doesn't matter where OU is--- if they are 6th-- it doesn't matter. If they win out, they get in. If they lose, they are likely out.

All this is right which I think puts us in pretty good shape. There's only one disaster scenario for us; Alabama beats UGA and OU goes undefeated. It's hard to see how a 1 loss B10 champ doesn't go although say MSU gets murdered by OSU and OSU were to lose to Michigan; I'd imagine that our 13-0 would be better than 12-1 MSU. In a 3 way B10 E tie with OSU, MSU, and UM all with 1 loss to each other I imagine the CFP rankings to determine? It would likely be UM since they would have gone undefeated and beaten OSU. I'll be 100% honest; with no big non-conference wins and their best win being over a 2 loss OSU we'd be more deserving based on our road ND win but I wouldn't have confidence that the committee would respect that.
