And I completely disagree that the MAC would want to keep NIU and Toledo together. They would love nothing more than to protect Toledo, although more of just wanting Toledo and BG together again. I think the MAC may have had visions of a Toledo/BG MACC rematch when they first shifted them into separate divisions. Shame that never materialized for them.

I suppose NIU could just crush Toledo’s dreams in Detroit instead of in November (October in this most recent case).

Completely agree. Toledo is the darling of the Cleveland-based MAC. The MAC is so proud of their top national ranking in recruiting.
