That’s a total of 37 schools. The AAC will want no part of this and expand to 12 with Marshall, Rice, Southern Miss, and UAB. Army remains independent. That brings the remaining group down to 24. The SBC reorganizes as a Southern and Southwestern conference while CUSA reorganizes as a Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern conference. For non-football schools, Wichita St remains in the AAC but the Summit picks up Arkansas - Little Rock and Texas - Arlington.

AAC
East: East Carolina, Marshall, South Florida, Southern Miss, Temple, UAB
West: Memphis, Navy*, Rice, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa
* Football-only
^ Non-football: Wichita St

CUSA
North: Charlotte, Connecticut*, Georgia St, Liberty*, Massachusetts*, Old Dominion
South: Appalachian St, Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Georgia Southern, Troy
* Football-only

SBC
East: Arkansas St, Middle Tennessee St, South Alabama, UL Lafayette, UL Monroe, Western Kentucky
West: Louisiana Tech, New Mexico St, North Texas, Texas St, UTEP, UTSA

Why on earth would the AAC want southern miss? They were good back in the day, but that day has passed. Small town, Small budget, Small upside potential.
