UAB current athletic budget is reported to be ~32 Million with 5-7 million of student fees - with 10 - 12 million of outside revenues such as ticket sales, media, donations, parking concessions etc and the SOM has agreed to subsidize up to 15 million a year-(this limit by the SOM not UABOT. SOM, I’m assuming you’re saying the school of medicine? They give athletics $15 million a year? I have never heard that before

It's a university subsidy not specific to the SOM. The board capped all the campuses (yes even Tuscaloosa) in the amount of subsidy. Hence the hastening of the death of UAH hockey
