An unintentional (I think) consequence is having a lot more empty seats. I prefer those butts be in seats, but it is what it is

I admit that when I stepped out of my seat a couple times, it took me a long time to return, bc I ended up chatting with people I haven’t seen in years.
Had my family not been back at my seats, I may have been away for an entire quarter at a time

The designers of newer stadiums and arenas today create open space concourses for fans to move and mingle. When Liberty expanded their stadium several years ago, that same design was implimented. Wide, open, long walking areas. I used to walk the concourse viewing the game moving with the action. Old stadiums in the past used walkways which were designed to get bodies into seats. Modern stadiums such as UAB's seems to offer an expanded viewing experience.

And LU has struggled to develop a fan base competing with both Virginia Tech and Virginia. Tech being 90 minutes away and UVA being an hour plus away most always override a LU game.
