Maybe it means nothing or is a coincidence. Maybe those not wearing masks are social distancing more, while those wearing masks have a false sense of security, are letting their guard down and the masks don't really stop the spread.

I honestly don't know what to think. It doesn't seem possible that the homemade masks could work very well, but on the other hand, it doesn't seem possible that they don't help at least a little bit.

Years ago, you could trust most doctors and medical experts. From 2020 onward, you can't trust anyone.

It's funny the numbers worked out that way in California. Take a look at what happened with Delta in Shelby County. The peak in the floating average is a couple of days after the mask mandate. Now, you can argue that the masks might not have done that but instead the mandate caused a change in behavior... but the mandate itself clearly had an affect on the COVID rate in Shelby County.
