Someone get the governor on the phone and tell him to shut this NYC crap down.

No one has ever said being vaxxed means you don’t have Covid. The vaccination greatly reduces the chance of getting Covid and greatly reduces the chance that you will get seriously ill if you do happen to get Covid. I know it’s hard for some people to look past themselves, but these mandates are not about individuals. This is a tactic to limit spread in the community as a whole. The idea is to not let Tiger basketball games become super spreader events that fill up ICU beds and cripple the local health system.

That's not true and that, among many things, is part of a messaging issue.

It started under Trump when he wanted to be the star of the press conferences so he would say all sorts of stupid ish that eroded trust with those who didn't like him and make people have to rely on Fauci for all info.

That in turn, caused those who love Trump to respond the opposite and then, in turn, treat Fauci as the real enemy.

What we have learned is that when doing something in this country that has never been done before (distancing, masking, shots, etc) is that things will change as we get more info.

Unfortunately we see or treat each change in course a "proof" that this is all a "hoax" or "diabolical plan" by one of the parties when it's generally just crappy government from the get go.

And yes, the message initially when getting the shot was that it would "prevent" a person from getting Covid.

While this is no longer true, what we still know is that vs. everything else it is still the most effective way to reduce the likelihood of getting Covid, the best way to mitigate symptoms if getting it, and the best way to keep other from getting it. And there is no current REAL data that shows it to harm those getting it.

That is the message now, but too many people just want to go to sources that parrot what they want to believe, not challenge their thinking and make them consider all sides.

It would be like, as a Tigers fan and analyzing why the Tigers should have gone to the B12 and only using Stammers posts as "proof" of why we should be in and disregarding all other possibilities.

It would be like, as a clown, and analyzing data, and only using Saluki's statement that Texas Tech was #2 in the country for 1 week in 2008 03-lmfao01-wingedeagle as "proof" that they are (as in currently) a more prominent program than we are...even though they are 46-66 over the last 10 years, have 500,000 less than us in their DMA and haven't had a winning season in 5 years.

Did hydroxychloroquine cure covid? No, but it has been around for 65 years and was prescribed in France, Spain, Italy and Greece, and the US without incident, until Trump said he didn't know if it worked, but maybe it was worth a try. Then all of a sudden, scientists, and the media said you could have a heart attack and kill you. This is true, except that no doctor prescribes it to anyone who has a heart problem. It doesn't kill anyone.

Now those same scientists are saying that 13 different vaccines that were rushed out in 6 months instead of the habitual 6-10 years are perfectly safe, have no long term side effects, and that you are a serial killer if you refuse to take one of them. Everything is so political and media driven and the medical community has become a big part of it. Nobody has earned anyone's trust.

This is the same as your weirdo habit of saying stuff like "posters were all saying that Damien Wilson was going to be a superstar" nonsense. Maybe 1 out of 200 posters thought that, but you take a stupidity from one person and run with it.

A small percentage of people are saying that it is a hoax. The majority of anti vaxxers fall into 4 categories...

1. Never get flu or other shots, never get sick, don't want to risk it - perfectly understandable

2. Don't trust the government and the media - perfectly understandable

3. Don't want to take something that hasn't gone through 10 years of testing to be sure of no long term issues - perfectly understandable

4. Understand that 80-95% of those dying will be older than age 60 with an average of 2.4 comorbidities (cancer, hypertension, lung or respiratory disease, diabetes, obesity), and if they don't fall into that category, they are pretty safe - perfectly understandable.

There is no doubt in my mind that vaccines save lives, lessen the severity of the symptoms, and lessen the possibility of spread to others. On long term effects, I'm not so sure, and nobody can be sure. It is perfectly reasonable for any of the above 4 reasons, for anyone to not want to take it, or at least to have concerns about taking it.

I am 100% sure, that everything is political, and nobody can be trusted. You are on full tilt my friend. You've gone over the deep end.
