Its says a lot about our culture when simply being against teachers pushing their sexual preferences on 6 year olds is an "extreme" position.

The vast majority of republican voters believe gays should continue to have equal rights (because they absolutely already have them) and that there should be some exceptions for abortions, AND that states and voters should be able to set those standards in each state.

There is nothing extremist about those positions at all. You seem to be ignoring the majority and just focusing on the extreme minority.

Your comment painted the entire party as extremists on those issue when they clearly are not.

That's not something a moderate would say, its something a hard core far leftist would say.

Its a really poor rationale for supporting that 'gays should to continue to have equal rights' is that 'they *already* have them'. If 'they already didnt have them' should we mark you up as not supporting that?

The corollary is 'I guess blacks should continue to not be considered by society to be capable of being enslaved, simply because they have that right currently'.

Your comment on why gays should be extended equal rights is a kissing cousin of an extremist POV. Which is the POV I think #s is addressing.
