Randy Edsall of UConn announced yesterday he was going to retire at the end of the season. But the school and he just announced that the 63-year-old coach was retiring effective immediately.
Edsall had a really good run at Connecticut, then left to take the HC job at Maryland. He never got it going there, came back to Connecticut, and has had little or no success the second time around. He probably should have stayed at Connecticut.
Well, that’s hindsight. A UConn head coach getting a P5 offer has won the lottery. Unimaginable he would turn the offer down.

True, although I will say that I expressed the opinion that he was making a mistake at the time. Kind of like what some coaches have learned when they left Rice for greener pastures.
