Say, the AAC takes a couple of teams, then maybe the MWC grabs up a couple of Texas teams.

Here’s what is going to happen. If the AAC goes for markets, CUSA is dead. In order to survive CUSA will have to invite FCS call ups. Go through growing pains, or dissolve and programs go independent.

If the AAC goes for the top performing SBC and CUSA programs then both leagues will reshuffle and survive.

I hadn't considered that, but that's a possibility also.

Whatever happens, the AAC, CUSA, and Belt are probably going to be very different in 2 years.

I don't see the AAC inviting anyone from the SBC because ESPN already owns their rights and owns them at a discount. I also don't see anyone leaving the SBC for C-USA because our media deal is a joke and we are a lateral move in football.

The AAC is going after the MWC first. If that falls through they will look at Army + A-10/MVC teams, once that falls through they will target C-USA teams.

They will take whoever ESPN tells them to take from C-USA, and ESPN knows which programs are worth taking from a media dollar standpoint (from which teams have get eyeballs to which markets care about college athletics).

I think UAB is the first call, after that things become more of a tossup. I just think ESPN already knows who ticks the boxes because they have viewership and streaming data. Barring a program blocking another (USF vs FAU, SMU vs UNT) I think ESPN will get what they want.
