Four first-year coaches in the division. A struggling FSU from the Atlantic. One FCS opponent to pad the win column. If the new assistant coaches/coordinators can produce something competent Collins might survive.

Another year of Collins is one of the worst things imaginable for GT football.
The ONLY way they should keep him is if the Jackets win 10+ games, including wins over FSU, Ole Miss, and UCF - and keep the Clemson and Georgia games CLOSE - which ain't happening! (But if it DID happen, then yeah, by all means, extend his contract!)

If he goes to a bowl game he won't be fired. But he also won't be extended. The heat won't go away much if any.

I would think if he goes 5-7 he is safe.. 1 or 2 wins over UCF/Ole Miss/WCU/Georgia and 3-4 wins over ACC schedule. He is safe, I agree that the heat wont go away and the fans wont come back. He lost the fanbase with all the talk and disrespect of CPJ in year 1 and losses to the Citadel. it would take B2B8 win seasons to get the fans back IMHO. FWIW I am hearing more and more fans that want Jeff Monken and the 3O back. I think we need to give Chip Long a chance before we go back to the 3O.
